The 2013 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival
The Festival Marketplace
September 2013
Let's taste our way around the world,
and try to stay out of the way of people drinking their way around the
world.
The first kiosk we stopped at was Hawaii.
At the Hawaii kiosk we found a favorite food item.
Kalua pork slider with sweet and sour chutney and spicy mayonnaise - $3.50.
The wine is a Lucien Albrecht Gewürztraminer Reserve - $4.50.
The
Scotland kiosk features seared salmon and vegetarian haggis, which didn't
appeal to us. So we moved along.
Greece had a nicely themed kiosk.
The Canada kiosk, where you can purchase a teeny tiny, itty bitty sampling
of Canadian cheddar cheese soup for $4.25.
Or not.
Actually, here is the full Canada menu.
Ireland has a rustic looking kiosk.
Then there's France.
Very provincial.
The Belgium kiosk had waffles.
Not Kidding.
Florida had the next item that sounded appealing.
Florida local grass fed beef slider with Monterey Jack cheese and sweet and
hot pickles - $3.75.
This was disappointingly greasy and unremarkable.
Hops and Barley is the name of the USA kiosk.
Hops and Barely is serving this lobster roll.
Lobster Roll with Lemon Herb Mayonnaise - $7.00.
Hops and Barley is also serving this bread pudding,
which was really tasty and refreshing.
Bread Pudding with Grand Marnier Anglaise - $3.25.
Italy was the next kiosk.
Just in case you've never had Italian food and want to try some ravioli.
Next.
Poland was close by.
Just in case you've never had polish food and want to try some pierogis or
kielbasa.
Actually, a lot of visitors here probably haven't had pierogis or kielbasa.
Step right up.
The Germany kiosk.
This beer garden was adjoining to the German kiosk.
Not to be confused with connecting to the German kiosk.
Those are two
entirely separate concepts at Disney.
Who's hungry for cheese?
No seriously.
But look, the cheese looks delicious.
Artisan cheese selection: Beecher's flagship reserve served with honey, La
Bonne Vie triple crème brie served with apricot jam, Wyngaard goats gouda
served with raisin bread - $4.75.
About this time, we caught up with the crowd coming the other way around
World Showcase.
The China kiosk.
At the China kiosk, servers prepare pot stickers - $4.00,
and Mongolian beef in a steamed bun - $5.00.
The Singapore kiosk.
This item from Singapore was very tasty.
Lemongrass chicken curry with coconut and jasmine rice - $3.75.
The New Zealand Kiosk.
New Zealand features venison, lamb, and oysters.
Steamed green lip muscles with garlic butter and toasted breadcrumbs -
$3.50.
Lamb meatball with spicy tomato chutney (in bread) - $5.00.
Venison sausage with pickled mushrooms, baby arugula, and
black currant reduction - $4.25.
Also from the New Zealand kiosk,
Mohua sauvignon blanc - $3.00.
There are many more kiosks than pictured on this page. There are actually 30 Marketplace kiosks to be found around World Showcase for the 2013 International Food and Wine Festival. These are just the highlights of what we encountered and found noteworthy.
